BSGCT Services to the Society Award

Services to the Society Award

Purpose:

The Services to the Society Award is given biennially to an individual who has made exceptional contributions to the mission of BSGCT, to advance the science and practice of gene therapy for the public benefit in the UK. This may normally be in the context of activities developed through the Society, and include but not necessarily be limited to public engagement, advancing dissemination of scientific knowledge, sharing of scientific resources, facilitating clinical advancement, supporting career development, and providing expert advice.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must have demonstrated extensive contributions to the mission of BSGCT

  • The bulk of the candidate’s relevant activity must have been conducted in the UK

  • Candidates must be members of BSGCT

  • Candidates must be nominated by a BSGCT member and the nomination seconded by another BSGCT member

  • The nomination proposal must be made in the application form included below, provide contact details for the nominating and seconding members and proposed candidate, and a brief description of the candidate’s work to support the nomination. The candidate’s CV must be attached.

  • Awardees must be available to receive the award at the next BSGCT Annual Conference.

 

Awarding decisions:

The BSGCT board will review the nominations and select the awardee. The board decision will be final.

 

Prize:

Trophy awarded during a 3-day annual conference
