I am a research fellow at the Centre for Discovery Brain Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. My research is focused on the development of novel genetic therapies for neurodevelopmental disorders, and the translation of these therapies from preclinical studies to the clinic. I have a strong interest in gene regulation and applying regulation to the design of gene therapy vectors. A focus of my work has been the development of regulated gene therapy vectors to treat Rett syndrome (RTT), a severe neurodevelopmental disorder that is highly dosage sensitive, and requires tightly regulated levels of transgene expression to ensure efficacy and safety.
