Piers Walser

Piers Walser completed his doctorate at the Swiss Federal Institute for Technology (ETH) in Zurich, working on glycobiology and X-ray crystallographic characterisation of protein-glycan complexes. He held followships from the Swiss National Science Foundation while undertaking post-doctoral studies in structural membrane biophysics at the University of Queensland, Australia. He then joined the antibody engineering group at NHS Blood and Transplant as a senior postdoctoral researcher before heading the group in 2015. In 2017, he moved to the Clinical Biotechnology Centre (CBC) as their lead protein engineering and process development scientist. He leads the R&D laboratory of the CBC as their Head of Manufacturing Science and Technology.
